The director of the Audio and Video Marketing Center of the Beijing Book Building, Liu Xiuyun, said,"the goods arrived here on August 11, and by the 20th, we had sold 20,000 DVDs with a total sales of 100 million yuan."
In the meantime, some shopping websites put the CD-ROM products of opening ceremony on the most prominent areas of their homepages. Sales of opening ceremony disks also led sales of Olympic books and other audio-video products. In the Beijing Book Building, the sales of Olympic-related audio-video products in general were over 50 percent than before the Olympics. CD album sales of singer Sarah Brightman - who performed the Olympic theme song - have doubled. However, currently the Olympic theme song "You and Me" is not yet available in audio or video format.
